Kilinochchi District Secretary Rupavathi Ketheeswaran held a discussion on price control of essential commodities and problems faced by Kilinochchi traders yesterday (21).
The discussion was held at the District Secretariat Conference Hall, chaired by the DS, where various issues related to the implementation of the Consumer Control Board’s activities were discussed, including rice pricing in mills, paddy procurement, transportation, and fuel purchase.
In response to a request for a fuel distribution system, she said the District Governor had directed them to put this in place, so that fuel could be distributed to ordinary citizens, fishermen, farmers, and other organisations, in accordance with government pricing guidelines.
The meeting yesterday brought together rice mill owners, trade unions, and wholesalers from the Kilinochchi District.
