A person who has failed five times in his political journey has been re-appointed as the Prime Minister and he is covering up all the thuggery committed by the Government while the country has not been presented with any policy or plan to overcome the current crisis, Executive Member of Jananiyamu Kalakaruwo organisation, Keerthi Welisarage, alleged.

He stressed the Government wants to intensify the pressure and continue to repress people.

Addressing the media at the JVP headquarters yesterday (21), he claimed that in order to run a Government the people of the country must have faith in the political system. “No country in the world today trusts the current Government of Sri Lanka. It is unthinkable that any country in the world would support the Government that is continuously making foolish decisions,” he charged.

“The only demand of the peaceful protests island-wide is for the ‘Ranil-Gota’ Government to step down immediately. The world demands immediate political stability. Heads of State, financial institutions and organisations in the world do not trust the country as long as this Government exists,” he said.

“Foreign workers are not sending dollars, we as the members of the Jananiyamu Kalakaruwo demand the Government to step down without further destroying this country. We force the Government to hand over power to an Interim Government,” he said.

Members of the organisation, Kamal Perera, Senior Lecturer Priyankara Ratnayake, Senior Lecturer Sithumina Ratnamalala and Sanjeewa Gunaratne were present at the briefing.
