The three-Judge Bench of the Colombo High Court, yesterday (20) ordered to conduct a detailed investigative trial with regard to the ongoing case filed against Naufer Mowlavi and 24 other accused, on charges of conspiring to launch a coordinated suicide attack targeting Catholic Churches and hotels on 21 April 2019, on 4 August.
The case was taken up before an HC Bench, consisting of Judges Damith Thotawatta, Amal Ranaraja, and Navaratne Marasinghe.
The Court ordered either the Director of the CID or one of its representatives, to be present on this date. The three
-Judge Benchalso ordered the Director of Prisons, to produce each of the accused in Court on the same date.
They also instructed the defencelawyers, if they have any bail applications to submit to Court on behalf of their clients, to do so in writing, at least a fortnight before the next hearing.
