Cabinet green lights 21st Amendment

The 21st Amendment to the Constitution has received the approval of the Cabinet of Ministers today (20).

In a twitter message, Minister Harin Fernando said that the 21st Amendment was tabled and passed by the Cabinet and that it will be tabled in parliament soon.

The draft was presented to the Cabinet on several occasions, however, the Cabinet had not green-lighted the constitutional amendments.

Thereafter, following discussions with political parties and various organisations, it was resubmitted to the Cabinet.
