Pradeshiya Sabha member Jagath Samantha has been arrested for assaulting several persons and obstructing the duties of police officers at a filling station in Arachchikattuwa.
Brother to MP Sanath Nishantha, Samantha was recently accused of assaulting certain individuals near a filling station and a video of the incident was widely circulated on social media.
He is due to be produced before the Chilaw Magistrate’s Court today (20).
