Reduce Parliamentary sittings to save fuel

JVP Propaganda Secretary, MP Vijitha Herath stressed that if the Government is determined to truncate State office and school hours due to the worsening fuel crisis in the country, then they should also seriously consider reducing the number of Parliamentary sittings as well.

He insisted that valuable time should not be wasted over trivial debates and the fuel saved should be handed over to the public.  Herath therefore urged the Speaker to formulate a mechanism to reduce Parliament days as much as possible and utilise the time to resolve the pressing issues of the citizens.
