President to hold a meeting regarding implementation of 21A

A special discussion is scheduled to take place this evening (16), under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, focusing on the urgency to present the 21st Amendment to the Constitution without further delay.

Several ruling party leaders including Justice Minister Wijayadasa Rajapaksa, Minister of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government Dinesh Gunawardena, and Foreign Minister G.L Peiris are expected to attend the discussion.

Despite the government’s decisions such as dissolving the previous cabinet, appointing a new cabinet and a new Prime Minister amidst the ongoing crisis in the country, the failure to pass the 21st Amendment within the Cabinet is a disappointment to the people, a senior minister told ‘Ceylon Today‘.
