Litro Chairman Muditha Peiris said the administration at Litro had no plans to import needed LP gas in the coming days, apart from the LP gas shipment that was cleared recently.
After taking office yesterday (15), the newly appointed chairman noted that the crisis created in the supply of LP gas is difficult to resolve, as no shipment has been scheduled for the coming weeks.
“It appears that he (former Litro Chairman Vijitha Herath) acted irresponsibly. He could have scheduled the next shipment. I have a duty and a responsibility to reveal the truth,” Peiris said.
“Scheduling the next shipment is currently at negotiation level. After completing the required conditions the shipment will generally take 14 days to be delivered by the supplier. We will see if we can get it done within 14 days or if we can get two gas shipments before that,” he said.
