Army CC and Colts CC in final

Two unbeaten teams, Army CC and Colts CC, advanced to the final of the Major Club T20 Cricket Tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket yesterday.

In the semi-finals, Army beat Saracens SC by 52 runs and Colts CC beat BRC by 67 runs.

The final is tomorrow (17).

Army vs Saracens

Army won the toss and elected to bat. They scored 169 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Skipper Thisara Perera scored an unbeaten 50 runs in 26 balls with 2 boundaries and 4 sixes. Seekkuge Prasanna (39), Lakshan Edirisinghe (27), Mahesh Kumara (18) and Yashodha Mendis (14) helped to build their innings. Isitha Wijesundara claimed 3 wickets for 25 runs.

Saracens SC were able to score only 117 runs for 8 wickets in their 20 overs. Promod Maduwantha (37*), Akash Senaratne (29), Sandun Mendis (13), Thaveehsa Kahaduwarachchi (11) and Chamathka Fernando (11) helped to build their innings. Lakshan Edirisinghe, Seekkuge Prasanna and Yasoda Mendis claimed 2 wickets each.

Colts vs BRC

BRC won the toss and elected to field. Colts CC scored 128 runs in 19.4 overs. Vishad Randika (35), Hashan Dumindu (22), Ravindu Rasantha (21) and Dhananjaya Lakshan (13) helped to build their innings. Duvindu Tillakaratne, Dushan Hemantha, Tillakaratne Sampath and Malka Madusanka claimed 2 wickets each.

BRC were bowled out for 61 runs in 16.3 overs. Thilakarathne Sampath (17) and Dushan Hemantha (12) were the only batters to enter double figures. Akila Dananjaya claimed 3 for 3 runs and Muditha Lakshan claimed 2 wickets for 18 runs.
