Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella met a group of activists on Tuesday (13) and discussed the possibility of increasing accessibility and enhancing product efficiency of sanitary napkins for Sri Lankan women.
After the discussion with activists Malsha Kumarathunga, Anuki Premachandra, and Lakmini Jayathilaka, the Minister tweeted that he hopes Sri Lanka can increase domestic production and further enhance accessibility to sanitary napkins.
Speaking to Ceylon Today after the discussion, Jayathilaka said, the Health Minister was apprised about this issue.
“We haven’t got any solid plan or promise from the minister yet. But we were requested to submit a proposal to the minister,” she added.
