Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has held discussions with the Secretary of State of the United States of America Anthony Blinken this evening (13).
During the telephone conversation, the Premier explained the current status of ongoing discussions with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
He added that Sri Lanka is looking forward to working closely with the United States and further strengthening ties between the two nations.
Meanwhile, the U.S Secretary agreed to support the crisis-struck nation and to promote investments in the country after the conclusion of IMF talks.
Further, Prime Minister Wickremesinghe has requested U.S Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to extend his greetings to the U.S President Joe Biden.
