Bourse continues to rec0ver


The Colombo Stock Exchange continued to recover as the benchmark index on Friday (10) rose for the third consecutive session on a relatively modest turnover with continued foreign entry into the Bourse.

The benchmark All Share Price Index, which started the day at 7,881.13 points on Friday (10), gained 0.22 per cent (17.66 points) to close the day at 7,898.79 points.

However, the S&P SL20, representing the top 20 companies traded on Colombo Bourse, which started at 2,567.74 points, lost 0.28 per cent (7.17 points) to close at 2,560.57 points.

The Colombo Stock Exchange saw a daily turnover of Rs 1.32 billion on Friday (10), lower than Rs 917 million recorded the previous day.

The Colombo Bourse witnessed a foreign inflow worth Rs 5 million on Friday (10) as foreigners purchased shares worth Rs 28 million as against sales of Rs 23 million. 

More than 60 million shares changed hands on Friday (10) during 16,007 trades that took place.

Shares of more than 235 companies were traded during the day of which 93 emerged as winners ahead of 74 losers.
