Unbeaten Ananda NS Puttalam in semi-final


Unbeaten Ananda National School Puttalam advanced to the semi-final of the Under-19 Division Three Tier ‘B’ Inter Schools Limited Overs Cricket tournament yesterday, when they beat Hindu College Bambalapitiya by one wicket in the quarter final played at General Lionel Balagalla ground (Gunners’ ground) Minneriya.

 Hindu Bambalapitiya won the toss and elected to bat. They were bowled out 138 runs in 46 overs. Rajakumar Dilrukshan scored 58 runs. Vimukthi Sandaruwan and Nethsara Dissanayake claimed 3 wickets each, while Mihisara Denuwan claimed 2 wickets.

 Ananda NS scored 140 runs for 9 wickets in 36 overs. Vimukthi Sandaruwan (31), Steven Ruwintha (25) and Suneth Tharanga (22) were the architects of the victory. Dilojan Ramaraj claimed 5 wickets for 45 runs.
