Three new meet records were set at the Junior National Athletics Championship 2022 which resumed at the Sugathadasa Stadium, Colombo yesterday. The four-day championship started on 9 May but was abandoned due to island wide curfew imposed on that day.
During yesterday’s competitions, Nadun Bandara of Royal College clocked 14.14 seconds in the 110m hurdle for boys’ under-20 to set a new meet record. Rahindu Alwis of Royal College Panadura set a new meet record with a throw of 16.98m in the boys’ under-18 shot put. The other record came from Keshavi Udeshani of Princess of Wales Moratuwa who threw a distance of 37.42m in the girls’ under-16 javelin throw. (Pic by Laksiri Rukman)
