Jaffna hospitals face severe drug shortage

The severe drug shortage has impacted hospitals in the North, and Northern Province Public Health officials are warning residents to be cautious of stray and domestic dogs.

Health officials also point out that drugs, such as the anti-rabies vaccine, which can be used to treat dog and cat bites and exploitation, are in short supply. As a result, people are advised to vaccinate their pets as much as possible and to be more cautious than ever to avoid the dangers posed by pets.

Meanwhile, many base hospitals in the North, including the Jaffna District, are experiencing severe difficulties as a result of the lack of medicines and the high cost of obtaining medicines from pharmacies.
