SLPP MP Basil Rajapaksa has decided to step down from his Parliamentary seat.
General Secretary of the party Sagara Kariyawasam said that he is due to resign tomorrow (9).
Meanwhile, a media briefing regarding the matter is also scheduled to be held tomorrow.
Basil Rajapaksa is a dual citizen and was appointed Minister of Finance on 8 July last year.
He was heavily criticized for the ongoing economic crisis in Sri Lanka.
