India to provide USD 55M loan for SL to import fertilizer


The Cabinet today (07) greenlighted the proposal to obtain a loan of USD 55 million from India’s Export-Import (EXIM) Bank to import urea fertilizer for the upcoming Maha season.

The proposal was tabled by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies.
