Tax on social media, a ploy to silence it – Sajith

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa claimed, the tax that has been imposed on social media recently, is a secret propaganda of the government to limit the social media usage by the public and silence social media.

Premadasa has said, the Government which has not yet paid compensation for crop damage, is asking the people to cultivate and that it is ridiculous for those who destroyed agriculture after two years of organic delusion to cultivate now.

“There was no shortage of houses for the President, Parliament and the houses of MPs and Ministers, but the people had those problems. The tragedy of the two-year Rajapaksa curse has been created and a serious nutritional problem has been created for children and pregnant women,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya would launch a cultivation war for food security and the inaugural work would be launched tomorrow.

Premadasa expressed these views at a meeting of social media activists in the Kalutara District yesterday (5) at the SJB Head Office.
