Kahandagama remanded

Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage on Friday (3) remanded, till 8 June, Colombo Municipal Councillor Mahinda Kahandagama, who was charged, by the Criminal Investigation Department, with involvement in the 9 May attack on the peaceful protesters at Galle Face Green and in front of Temple Trees.

Kahandagama was arrested on 2 May, after he surrendered to the Criminal Investigation Department over the case in connection with the incidents of violence on 9 May at Galle Face and Kollupitiya.

Kahandagama, former Minister Johnston Fernando and two others were named as suspects by the CID, which is handling the probes into the attacks on protesters at ‘GotaGoGama’ in Galle Face and ‘MynaGoGama’ near Temple Trees by a group of SLPP supporters.
