SL currently in possession of over 65,000MT of fuel

Sri Lanka currently has a total of 65,818 metric tonnes (MT) of fuel in their possession, Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera confirmed.

Accordingly, as per the records of the Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL), the government is in possession of 33,498 MT of Octane 92 Petrol, 13,067 MT of Octane 95 Petrol, 18,825 MT of Diesel and 42 MT of Super Diesel.

Meanwhile, the government has also procured 386 MT of Jet A1 fuel.

Wijesekera further added that a consignment of diesel is also currently being unloaded, while the Sapugaskanda Oil Refinery too, commenced operations after a three-month halt on Monday (30).
