Colombo Chief Magistrate Nandana Amerasinghe, on 30 May, fixed further hearing of the case against former Minister Wimal Weerawansa and five others for 29 August.
The National Freedom Front (NFF) Leader and five others, namely MP Jayantha Samaraweera, former MP Weerakumara Dissanayake, NFF Media Spokesman MP Mohammad Muzammil, former member of the Western Provincial Council Roger Seneviratne and Piyasiri Wijenayake, have been charged by Cinnamon Gardens Police with causing public inconvenience by obstructing vehicular traffic opposite the UN office at Thunmulla Junction, Colombo during the visit of former High Commissioner for UN Human Rights Council Zeid Raad Al Hussein, six years ago and thereby violating Provisions contained the Police Ordinance and the Thoroughfares Act.
Accordingly, the Magistrate, instructed the witnesses to the case to be present in Court to give testimony on the said date.
When the case was taken up, the six suspects, who are currently out on bail, were present in Court.
