ACJU urges Khatibs to caution citizens

The All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU) requested those who deliver sermons (Khatibs) at mosques on Friday (Jummah) this week to speak on the topic of protecting the Nation, especially children and youth from illicit drug abuse.

“It is well-known that our country is facing several continuous serious problems due to the increasing abuse of illicit drugs within our society,” ACJU General Secretary, Ash Shaikh M. Arkam Nooramith said.

While saying that the murder of the nine-year-old girl from Atulugama by a drug addict is of grave concern, the ACJU called on Khatibs to deliver Jummah sermons this week (3 June), on preventing illicit drug abuse and its consequent impacts on society.
