Sri Lankan YouTuber and social activist Rathindu Senaratne aka ‘Ratta’ who is a prominent figure in anti-Government protests in GotaGoGama was arrested yesterday (30), when he arrived at the Slave Island Police to give a statement.
He was granted bail the same evening, after being produced before the Fort Magistrate.
Ceylon Today learnt that Senaratne was arrested on several charges including criminal coercion, unlawful assembly and obstructing the duties of police officers, who were on duty opposite the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court during a protest on 25 May.
The protest demanded the arrest of suspects allegedly connected to the May 9 attacks on peaceful protesters demanding the resignations of the President and former Prime Minister.
