Parliament must be dissolved to end political crisis – JVP

Parliament should be dissolved immediately to end the current political crisis, JVP Politburo member Wasantha Samarasinghe urged.

He went on to say, the Government must not play games with the people, and that if holding election costs money, there is a programme in place to cover the costs.

He also emphasised the importance of holding elections to end the political crisis, as some people are willing to donate to polling stations and perform the duties of public servants for free during an election.

He also noted that protests will continue, emphasising the importance of the Galle Face occupation.

“The problems of the people and cost of living increases day by day. The Government has at least failed to reduce the living standards of the people. The Government has proved again and again. Ranil Wickremesinghe is the spokesperson of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and former Premier Mahinda Rajapaksa. This journey cannot go on with this group. This regime must end immediately. This political crisis cannot be ended with 140 MPs’ in the SLPP, which means that the political and economic crisis cannot be ended,” he added.
