All parties must support 21st amendment to restore public faith – Dullas

Former Minister Dullas Alahapperuma has urged all political parties to support the 21st Amendment to the Constitution.

Taking to Twitter, he noted that in order to restore public faith and boost economic recovery, all parties must support the Amendment.

He further emphasised that the move is a ‘good start to overcome the shortcomings of that sordid past’, referring to the fact that Sri Lanka’s progress was hampered by constitutional amendments that were passed solely for the satisfaction of individual and political interests.

Alahepperuma thereby urged that this pattern be changed with the proposal of the 21st Amendment.
