Two remanded


Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage, on Wednesday (25), remanded, till 6 June, two suspects who were charged with causing damage to City Hotel Colombo Complex, situated at Slave Island and belonging to SLPP MP Johnston Fernando.

The two suspects, who are residents of Colombo 2 were identified as Mohammad Hussein and Mohammad Faimi.

Slave Island Police told Court that they had received a complaint from the Manager of the hotel, Mohammad Arfan, with regard to the two suspects, along with a group of 200 persons, who had arrived at the said hotel premises on 9 May, where they then proceeded to damage its property and cause substantial losses.
