Case against Namal fixed for 21 Sept


Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage yesterday (26) fixed further hearing of the case against former Minister Namal Rajapaksa for 21 September.

The SLPP MP has been charged before the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court, by the CID, with the alleged criminal misappropriation of a sum of Rs 70 million, which had been obtained from Krrish Lanka Private Limited, for the development of rugby in Sri Lanka.

The CID informed Magistrate Gamage, that they had already submitted the case abstracts for the perusal of Attorney General Sanjay Rajaratnam.

Hence, they added that they have sought the AG’s advice, regarding further legal action on the matter. When the case was taken up the suspect Rajapaksa was present in Court.
