Private bus services to stop after O/L Exam

Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association (LPBOA) warned that they cannot help, but stop bus services after the G.C.E. O/L Exam, due to the prevailing diesel shortage.

Speaking to Ceylon Today, yesterday (25), LPBOA Chairman Gemunu Wijeratne said, the Government must provide a system to provide diesel to private buses such as allocating separate filling stations.

“We do not have a proper way of getting diesel and are having a hard time finding diesel and waiting in queues.  Even the depots that provide diesel to SLTB buses do not have enough fuel,” he added.

Meanwhile, Wijeratne also said a bus fare revision in July was definitely on the cards.
