Limit public officers called in for duty

A circular has been issued to restrict the calling of public officers for duty in an attempt to minimize state expenditure due to the scarcity of resources.

The Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government adviced to only call in the minimum number of staff required to carry out the services from tomorrow (26) until further notice. However, the Ministry highlighted that whilst limiting staff, essential public services must be carried out efficiently.

Heads of institutions are also urged to use fuel, electricity and water sparingly for the management of government expenses.
