Case against SPC fixed for 22 July


A complaint filed before the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court against the State Printing Corporation (SPC) for the non-payment of Rs 350 Million for the supply of 1683 MT of printing paper will be taken up on 22 July.

The complaint was filed by the Chairman of L.P.L Keshara Lanka Pvt Ltd. Lionel D.C. Silva seeking to take up the matter and impose relevant punishments. The complaint was filed against the Chairman, General Manager, Finance Manager and the Accounts and Distribution Manager of SPC and five others. The complainant while requesting for notice to be issued to the respondents, also requested for an order to be made barring the respondents from leaving the country without permission of the Court. Faiszer Musthapha PC, Shehan De Silva, Meran Careem, Hafeel Faris and Hemal Senaviratne appeared on behalf of the complainant.
