State Printing Corporation taken to Court


A complaint was filed in the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court yesterday (23), against the State Printing Corporation (SPC) for the non-payment of Rs 350 million for the supply of 800 MT of printing paper under an agreement.

The complaint was filed by Chairman of L.P.L. Keshara Lanka Pvt Ltd., Lionel Devaram Chandrasekaram, under Section 386 of the Penal Code as a criminal offence seeking to take up the matter and impose relevant punishments.

The complaint was filed against the Chairman, General Manager, Finance Manager and the Accounts and Distribution Manager of SPC and five others. The complainant, while requesting for notice to be issued on the respondents, also requested for an order to be made barring foreign travel without permission of the Court.

The case will be taken up on 22 July, while Faiszer Musthapha PC, Shehan De Silva, Meran Careem, Hafeel Faris, Hemal Senaviratne, and Dilhara Dewage appeared for the complainant.
