40,000 MT of petrol arrives


A ship carrying 40,000 MT of petrol arrived at the Colombo Port yesterday (23).

The High Commission of India in Colombo said, with this consignment, approximately 13 shipments have arrived under the Indian Line of Credit, carrying over 400,000 metric tons of fuel in total.

Meanwhile, stocks of 95 Octane Petrol were released to fuel stations islandwide yesterday (23), Minister of Energy Kanchana Wijesekera said.

In a tweet, he assured that with the unloading of two cargo vessels, Sri Lanka now has sufficient stocks of 95 Octane Petrol for the next six weeks.

He urged those using 95 Octane Petrol to refrain from pumping 92 Octane Petrol hereafter, and to obtain 95 Octane from today (24).
