There will be no distribution of Liquefied Petroleum (LP) Gas cylinders tomorrow (24), LITRO Gas Lanka announced.
LITRO Chairman Vijitha Herath explained that the decision was taken owing to the lack of stocks of LP Gas, adding that only those used for industrial purposes are currently available.
He urged the public to refrain from queueing up for LP Gas cylinders tomorrow, adding that distribution is expected to begin again on Thursday (26).
A payment of USD 6.5 million was made today (23), for two shipments carrying a total 7,500 metric tonnes of LP Gas.
The first shipment carrying 3,500 metric tonnes is expected to arrive in Colombo on Thursday.
