Distribution of 50,000 cylinders of domestic gas expected today

Litro Gas Lanka says 50,000 cylinders of LP gas are expected to be distributed islandwide today (20).

Chairman Vijitha Herath said the gas cylinders are planned to be distributed to Colombo and outstation areas.

A vessel carrying 3,900 metric tonnes of gas arrived in the country yesterday and if the sea conditions improve, the vessel would be brought to the buoy and the gas would be obtained through pipelines.

Herath said that if this is done, 80,000 gas cylinders could be released daily to the market from tomorrow.

He revealed that there is a shortage of 3.5 million gas cylinders in the market at present and the issue cannot be resolved at once.

Therefore, he urged the public to minimize queuing for gas.
