Castlereagh, Maussakelle water levels rising

Water levels in Castlereagh and Maussakelle reservoirs are rising due to torrential rains in the area over the last few days.

Reservoir engineers said that water levels have risen up to 48 feet at the 120-foot tall dam at Maussakelle Reservoir and 119 feet at the 155-foot tall dam in Castlereagh Reservoir.

Ruins of old buildings, which went underwater following the construction of the Maussakelle Reservoir, surfaced during the recent dry season and have started to submerge with the heavy rain.
