Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera requested the public not to queue up for fuel until Friday (20), when delivery to the 1,190 fuel stations is scheduled to be complete.
In a tweet, Wijesekara said with the arrival of a diesel shipment on 15 May and three more vessels expected to arrive in the next two weeks under the Indian credit line, the country would have enough fuel to fulfil demand.
A new shipment of diesel from India arrived in Sri Lanka on 15 May under the fuel credit line. This is the twelfth fuel shipment delivered by India under the credit line, which has supplied more than 400,000 MT of fuel to Sri Lanka so far. (TR)
