Locals line up for kerosene amidst heavy rain

A huge queue was seen at Hatton’s Norwood fuel station for kerosene within a few hours of the curfew being lifted, compelling the station’s attendants to limit supply.

According to the attendants, who charge Rs 400 per customer, the Norwood petrol station received 6,600 litres of kerosene yesterday (12), several days after the Norwood area experienced a gas shortage.

Customers have been queuing for kerosene since the early hours of the morning despite the inclement weather in the area and the islandwide curfew.
