Ambassador of the United States to Sri Lanka, Julie Chung has regarded Ranil Wickremesinghe’s appointment as the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka as the ‘first steps to addressing the crisis & promoting stability’.
Taking to Twitter, she noted that Wickremesinghe’s appointment, together with the ‘quick’ formation of an Interim Government are the ‘first steps to addressing the crisis & promoting stability’.
Further, Ching noted that she was looking forward to working with the Leader of the United National Party (UNP), while encouraging long-term solutions ‘that meet the needs of all Sri Lankans’.
