Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Leader Sajith Premadasa has agreed to accept Premiership, under four conditions.
In a letter to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Premadasa outlined his conditions as follows;
- The President must agree to step down from office within an agreed period of time
- Implement the 19th Amendment with the support of all parties in Parliament within two weeks
- Pass the 21st Amendment that was presented by the SJB within a short period of time
- Hold a general election under the provisions of the Constitution to establish a proper government, after rebuilding the livelihoods of the people and the rule of law has been established.
