An individual was injured when Police opened fire at a mob who were trying to set the jeep of the Mulleriyawa OIC on fire at Angoda Junction on 10 May evening.
On 10 May evening, troops attempted to remove a damaged bus near the Ambatale Petrol Station, but were confronted by a mob.
The mob then poured fuel on the bus, and the Army notified the Mulleriyawa Police that it had been set on fire. Acting on the information, OIC Sunimal Susantha and a Police team arrived at the scene. The mob pelted stones at the Police jeep and prepared to set it on fire. The Police opened fired and an individual was injured.
