It is important to reform the system of governance and alleviate the people’s economic hardships, in order to fulfil the people’s aspirations, said Minister of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government Dinesh Gunawardena.
He was participating in the handing over of chairs for teachers to several Dhamma schools in Seethawaka, Avissawella yesterday (8).
The Minister said that the people are experiencing economic hardships and that the need to provide relief to them is important. He also stated that the people want a change in the system of government, which should be effected through constitutional amendments.
Teachers’ chairs were donated to Kahahena Priyamananda Dhamma School, Akarawita-Lenawara Rajamaha Vihara Dhammananda Dhamma School, Kosgama Sri Sudarshanarama Sri Sudarshana Dhamma School and Kadugoda Purana Vihara Sucharithodaya Dhamma School.
These donations were made under the patronage of the Maha Sangha from the Decentralised budget of the Minister.
MP Yadamini Gunawardena, Seethawaka Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Jayantha Rohana, Pradeshiya Sabha MPs Samantha Gamage and L. Nandakumara were also present at the occasion.
