Passport services resume

The Department of Immigration and Emigration announced that arrangements have been made to resume passport issuance from today (9) under the Normal Service. The One Day Service was suspended due to urgent repairs in the computer system and will resume once the repairs are completed. On 5 May, they temporarily ceased accepting applications.

In a press release, the Controller General stated that only applicants who made appointments to take passports under the Normal Service on 5, 6 and 9 May will be accepted today.

From Tuesday it is essential to make an appointment to handover applications for passports, he said. Applicants can make the appointments by reaching the official website of the Department or on 0707101060.

The Controller General said further that other services provided by the Head Office, services provided by Regional offices and Immigration and Emigration Services at Airports are in progress as usual.
