CPC issues statement on recent fuel quality controversies

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has assured that investigations are underway into the recent media reports concerning the quality of fuel being supplied at fuel stations.

Issuing a statement yesterday (06), CPC assured that fuel samples from the Narammala filling station have already been sent to the relevant laboratories.

The bowser in question too, has been brought to the Kolonnawa Terminal, where the necessary investigations are being conducted to determine the cause of the issue.

CPC further noted that the bowser had delivered Petrol 92 Octane to two other fuel stations in Dambadeniya other than the filling station in Narammala, in which tests carried out showed no deviation of fuel specifications.

Several recent media reports questioned the quality of fuel being issued at fuel stations, after a video pertaining to the matter went viral.
