SJB should take over Govt or join Interim Govt – Independents

As the party that presented the No-Confidence Motion, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) should take over the Government or they should participate in the Interim Government, the group of independent MPs stated in a recent letter to Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa.

Pivithuru Hela Urumaya Leader MP Udaya Gammanpila said, if the SJB needs their support to pass the No-Confidence Motion, they have to select one of the two proposals mentioned in their letter.

Addressing the media yesterday (5), he blamed Premadasa for not supporting the process of electing the Deputy Speaker.

“It shows that the Opposition is in a secret conspiracy with the government while trying to divide the Opposition parties, when they have presented a No-Confidence Motion,” he said.

Also addressing the media, leader of the National Freedom Front, MP Wimal Weerawansa said that it was clear that the Premadasa is in a secret contract with the Rajapaksas.

He said that no Opposition leader has ever done anything to divide the Opposition parties till date. He said that Premadasa is acting completely according to the Rajapaksa agenda.

“I challenge Sajith Premadasa to participate in a debate on a TV channel to talk about everything,” he said.
