LPBOA undecided on Friday’s hartal

The Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association (LPBOA) is yet to take a final decision regarding the  participation in the islandwide hartal scheduled for Friday (6).

Speaking to Ceylon Today, yesterday (2) LPBOA President, Gemunu Wijeratne noted that holding a hartal would only add to the public’s burden.

“The point of holding a hartal should be to make sure that the purpose of the action reaches the politicians. Unfortunately, holding a hartal at this juncture only burdens the public who are already facing enough difficulties,” he added.

He further said that it is up to the bus owners to decide their participation in trade union action.
