SJB denies striking deals with Govt

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), confirmed that they have not held any discussions with any Government-affiliated parties.

Speaking to Ceylon Today, SJB Leader Sajith Premadasa refuted the statement of National Freedom Front MP Nimal Piyathissa, claiming that a group of  SJB MPs will join the Interim Government.

“The Opposition is against any plan or any group that works to prop up President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who has been rejected by the whole country,” he said.

Meanwhile, the ‘Samagi Bala Pagamana’ against the Government continued for the third day, yesterday (28) in Galigamuwa.

Premadasa said Sarath Fonseka, who ended the 30-year war, would be empowered to bring to justice those accused of stealing public money. Premadasa said the SJB has not made any deals except with the 21 million people in this country.

The SJB leader said a permanent and powerful institution will be set up to curb corruption and theft, which will function independently.
