India provides medical aid to SL


India has granted a consignment of drugs and medical supplies to Sri Lanka, in view of the medicinal shortage in the country owing to the ongoing economic and political crisis.

The INS Gharial, a Landing Ship Tank of the Indian Navy, carrying the consignment arrived at the Colombo port today (29).

The consignment was handed over by the Indian High Commissioner to Health Minister Prof. Channa Jayasumana.

Meanwhile, the Commanding Officer of INS Gharial called on Deputy Chief of Staff and Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Upul De Silva at the Western Naval Command Headquarters this evening.
