TELO won’t sign NCM against Govt – Karunakaram

The Tamil Eelam Liberation Organisation (TELO) will not sign the No-Confidence Motion (NCM) against the Government, however, we will vote to impeach the President, TELO General Secretary, Govindan Karunakaram said.

He said three key MPs from TELO have decided not to sign the NCM and they will discuss with the parties who will vote for the NCM, and will stand with them.

“If anyone seeks our support for the NCM, we will discuss several points including racism, land encroachment of Tamil people, and abolishing the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) before taking any decision, as these concerns haven’t been addressed by anyone,” he added.

He said they will support anyone who will do justice to Tamils.

Karunakaram further said the TNA has not decided on the NCM. “We conducted extensive research and decided not to support the NCM,” he added.

Meanwhile, he said they will vote to impeach the President, as he is the main reason for the predicament of Tamils. “He is also to blame for the present economic crisis,” he said.
