The Sri Lanka Postal Services Union will join the general strike today (28), suspending all postal services for 24 hours beginning at midnight, President of Sri Lanka Postal Services Union, Jagath Mahinda said.
He said that a massive trade union action with the participation of all public, private, and semi-public sectors, will come into force tomorrow calling for the immediate resignation of the President and the Government.
“People are suffering as a result of the Government’s irresponsible decisions and we will fight them for a solution to the crisis and a better future for our children,” he added.
All services, including letter and parcel distribution will be suspended in the 623 post offices and 3,010 sub-post offices, he added.
