As part of its on-going efforts to help the country mitigate unprecedented challenges, Lanka IOC distributed dry ration packs to needy families via St. Lucia’s Cathedral, Kotahena.
Manoj Gupta, MD, Lanka IOC PLC said, “Our on-going initiatives are in line with nation’s current need for fighting challenges of economic meltdown and scarcity of food items. During this unprecedented time, when the price of food has gone above 30 per cent, people are finding hard to fulfil their daily needs. We always endeavour to connect with society through our various CSR activities.”
Gupta thanked the management of Kotahena St. Lucia’s Cathedral for giving Lanka IOC the opportunity to help the community and assured continued assistance.
Rev. Father Ronnie Wickramasinghe and the local community thanked Lanka IOC for assisting.
Lanka IOC is carrying out charity drives including donation of drugs and medical equipment to hospitals, distribution of sanitisers to the Police, and stationery for school children.
Recently, Lanka IOC distributed 100 Samsung smart phones to the Ministry of Education. The company has been donating hygienic dry rations to numerous families of Sri Lanka Welfare Society of the Blind Women (SLWSBW) and has also been consistently engaged in providing the stainless steel foot peddle hand wash sinks, digital thermometers, sanitisers, liquid hand wash bottles and KN95 kids masks to various schools in the Western Province, a spokesman said.
